42. John WHITEFOORD 2nd Baronette
of Blairquahan was born in 1700. He died on 2 Mar 1763 in Edinburgh.
He was a Colonel of the 12th Light Dragoons. He was a Lt. Colonel in the Army.
He was a Burgess of Ayr. Sir Johm Whitefoord, the second baronet, entered the
army in 1720, became Captain in 1726, and Major in 1742. In January 1750, he
was made Colonel, was appointed Major General in 1758, and Lieutenant General
in 1761.

He was married
to Alice MOORE of Tullyhalen (daughter of John MOORE and
Unknown). John WHITEFOORD 2nd Baronette of Blairquahan
and Alice MOORE of Tullyhalen had the following children:
